Reviews of underfloor heating

Electric heated floors, according to reviews, have gained widespread popularity. The reason is the simplicity of their installation and further operation. According to the principle of heating, electric fields are divided into two groups. Some use infrared radiation, others heat the surface due to their own temperature. The process of improving the warm floor is ongoing. Single-core cable systems are replaced by two-core more reliable and resistant to local damage.

Varieties of warm electric floor

Thermal cable

The most complex type of heating element. Its installation requires considerable experience. When laying, it is necessary to place the cable with a given step in one of several special schemes, the choice of which depends on the specific case.

Thermomat

It is a cable fixed on the basis of a polymer, dielectric, heat-resistant mesh. Laying and connecting such cables is easier.

Thermal rods

Outwardly look like a kind of thermomats. They are two wires between which carbon rods are placed. However, the process of heating the room occurs with the use of infrared radiation. Carbon floors have the effect of self-regulation and are very reliable in operation.

Infrared film

Multilayer construction of two layers of polymer film and infrared carbon-based heating elements. The main advantage is the insignificant thickness of the product of about 0.5 mm. This type of floor heating is considered the most energy-efficient. Another feature is the possibility of installation "dry" that is, there is no need to fill or lay in tile adhesive, it is enough to lay a laminate on top, or a carpet or parquet board and a floating warm floor is ready.

Regardless of the type of electric heating, all warm floors have a number of common features:

  • The base on which they are laid must be flat and dry;
  • There is a need for thermal insulation of the base and the installation of a reflective layer, grounding;
  • A temperature regulator is used as an element of control and management;
  • Warm electric floors are used primarily as an auxiliary heating system.
