Bought a new apartment while doing repairs in the apartment did not live. Everywhere with the neighbors, the walls are 380 mm thick of silicate brick, and in one place in the children's room there is a partition made of foam concrete block 200 mm thick (drilled through). When the neighbors settled, hell began. A neighbor of the Great Patriotic War veteran turned on the TV and coughed. Wrote a complaint to the Developer. came the Chief Engineer, they decided to stick Polyf, they all bought themselves. I removed the already pasted wallpapers myself from one wall, since the walls were well plastered, sanded and primed. The captured wallpaper could be reused. The plinth from the edge of the ceiling was cut out by the workers of the builder.

Later, to speed up, I bought a new one myself, it costs about 30 rubles for 3 meters (I bought 2 pcs.). Glued with polyp, then wallpaper after 2 days. Then the baseboard and painted it with my paint, the benefit remained from the repair. In general, thanks to my thrifty, it was done as if it had been. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN ELIMINATED, THE NOISE HAS BEEN HEARED THE SAME. Despite the fact that the picture says that behind the wall you can cut the music and you will be quiet.

Perhaps I do not exclude that the effect was, but when it was turned on for a full telly behind the wall, this is not enough.
The problem was solved by persuading the neighbors to reduce the sound of the TV. Now others live there and more or less now.

ADVICE AND RECOMMENDATION TIPS. AS WELL AS OPPONENTS OF MIN-WATER
A comment
For the first time I came across a substrate for wallpaper about 5 years ago. I watched as experts mounted it as an advertisement. The first mistake of everyone who glue the substrate themselves is that they do not primer the walls, so the glue is huge. Second, after drying, if you want the wall to be stronger, you need to strengthen it. I know two ways, I personally personally practiced only one; roll white paper is glued on top of the substrate, and after the wallpaper, the second method I did not use was putty, but the result was impressive. People who are negative about min vate will give advice. If you are mounting panels: OSBi, GYPSOCARTON, MDF, etc., use a substrate of 1 or 2 layers, the first layer before installing the frame on the wall, the second on the inside of the panel effect))) someone did not complain. AND LAST, entrust the repair to specialists or spend your money on your incompetence and then criticize the material manufacturers.
pros
convenient, fast, reliable.
Minuses
Masters with crooked hands.

Polyf, depending on what effet you wait!
A comment
I live in a panel apartment, I constantly encounter the problem of sound insulation, very good audibility, sometimes it becomes unbearable. When I started doing repairs, the first thing I thought about was how to solve the problem, my friends told Polyf about the insulation. It is sold in ordinary construction stores. To my surprise, his thickness was only 5 mm. The material itself has the following parameters: total length 14 meters, roll width 50 centimeters, enough for 7 meters squared. I pasted it on ordinary PVC glue, everything is holding well, nothing fell off. After sticking, you need to let Polyphom stand for 3 days, after which you can make further repairs, glue the wallpaper and everything else.

Now about the effect. The apartment has become warmer - this is a fact, but the heater failed to cope with my main problem. The noise level became lower, but did not disappear completely. In this problem, apparently 5 mm is not enough.
pros
Not expensive, independence of use.
Minuses
I did not cope with the main task.

Bad repair experience and how to do it unnecessarily
A comment
Our end panel apartment has long been in need of global repair, but at the same time we decided to insulate it, and to insulate the nursery from the inside and protect it from noise coming from the living room. On the advice of a consultant, they bought Polyf and stuck it on the walls. On top of it all taped wallpaper - it turned out disgusting! All joints of the material are visible, especially in the light. As a result, the second half of the room at the joints of Polyphom was glued with masking tape (on the advice of a friend).

This not only did not help, but gave an even more terrible picture: the wallpaper rose. Draw conclusions from their mistakes: the wallpaper must be taken very dense, then nothing will be visible. As for heat and sound insulation - the material copes with it. One more minus - the surface of the wallpaper turns out to be soft, traces of the slightest dents are visible on it. With careless handling or accidentally hitting, you can generally tear off a piece of wallpaper.
pros
sound insulation, aligns the wall, thermal insulation.
Minuses
easily deformed, seams shine through the wallpaper.

Polif under the wallpaper - for the heat in the apartment
A comment
We have a common story. City apartment. Prefabricated house, cold walls. Even when the batteries are fiery, we have to turn on the heater. We spend a lot of electricity. Money, respectively, too.

We heard about the Polifom insulation under the wallpaper. This is a special foamed polyethylene foam coated with special paper that cannot be torn off.

He glues, like ordinary wallpaper, but heavy, on a prepared wall, coated with glue. It takes time to dry - about four days. And then ordinary wallpaper is glued on top.

It is probably the easiest to warm the apartment yourself.

Already lived autumn and winter with such walls. The difference, of course, is felt. It has become warmer, the walls do not freeze. They also began to pay less for electricity.
pros
It is easy to glue yourself, it has become warmer, we spend less electricity.
Minuses
I had to spend money on a purchase, you need to beware of strong contact with the body or any objects on the wall, because when pressed hard, a dent can remain on the surface, and this can not always be explained to small children.
