For the third year since I installed SKYGLASS cellular polycarbonate, I used to cover my greenhouse only with plastic, but realizing that it was of little use, I bought a new polycarbonate. And I never regretted this purchase! It just perfectly withstands snow loads, and well retains heat inside. Of course, what surprised me at first was the price, since it turned out to be inexpensive, I was afraid that the polycarbonate was of poor quality, but I was worried in vain, it is very durable and high-quality, in winter it proved to be just fine. It's been three years already and there are no cracks, breaks, grindings and sagging.

Plastilux Group Cellular Ultramarin Polycarbonate - Especially for Greenhouses

I decided to put in the country house a greenhouse of my own production according to the design of Mitlider. Although there are many ready-made models, but this is not for me. He calculated the required dimensions, chose the optimal place on the site, built a frame. Than sheathed decided immediately. Reinforced polycarbonate, no options. I chose polycarbonate Ultramarin 6 mm. Although it is more expensive than 4 mm, it is much stronger and, importantly, retains heat better. The manufacturer Plastilyuks Group gives 8 years for the product, which is much more realistic 15-20 from other manufacturers. I took 2 rolls of 12 m each. The greenhouse came out just a sight for sore eyes - warm and bright.

the material is perfectly processed, sawed with a jigsaw and grinder. Protected by film on both sides. On the front, an instruction with a description of the properties and methods of attachment is very convenient for beginners.

ECOPlast from the manufacturer LLC "Kin" a rational choice for the greenhouse

I have been working in greenhouses for about 15 years. During this time, development has gone from a wooden greenhouse under a simple film to a greenhouse attached to a house under glass and heating. And after the next alteration had to abandon the glass. Firstly, too heavy for a new profile. Secondly, a very high cost. Polycarbonate was considered as a necessary alternative, until I figured it out properly and realized that this was the best material for greenhouses.
I chose ECOPlast from the manufacturer company LLC “Kin”. Thickness is 8 mm (only on the roof), sheet size 6-2.1 m. To replace some segments I needed 3 sheets. In the store they were twisted into rolls that fit perfectly into the car. Installed with simple screws, but with rubber washers

The material is lightweight, well processed, easy to use. Strong, durable, better than glass retains heat. Protects from ultraviolet radiation.
Minuses
When installing large pieces, you need to be very careful, since the material has a sail that is much larger than the film.

Selex Sotex polycarbonate sheets - performed pretty well in season one

This spring, after finally peeling the greenhouse, I decided to cover it with cellular polycarbonate. I didn’t think much about the choice. I needed a budget option, but not outright junk. Selex Sotex completely came up both in price and, as it turned out, in quality.

I have a pitched greenhouse roof. It so happened that the width of the sheet almost completely coincides with the width of the slope. It is very convenient to mount and does not need to tinker with pruning. Moreover, the edges are incredibly sharp, while installed, all hands ripped off. Polycarbonate retains heat fairly well. The harvest season this year ended much later. Then they used a greenhouse to dry potatoes, carrots, onions. Selex Sotex does not let in ultraviolet light, so vegetables do not start to turn green.

The main selection criteria were durability and strength. By all measures, the polycarbonate manufacturer Garboglass, completely fit. On the advice of specialists for the walls I took 4 mm for a roof of 6 mm, we have very snowy winters. Reinforced polycarbonate wintered without loss. On the advice of a neighbor who has long been engaged in greenhouses, IR heaters were installed in the spring, and seedlings began to be planted a few weeks earlier. The manufacturer regulates the service life of 15 years, but this is unlikely. After the first winter, small scratches appeared on the surface, so that in 5-7 years the light transmission will very much drop, it will be necessary to change.

Polycarbonate Kin Ecoplast - the best choice for the greenhouse

In addition to the large garden, we have several greenhouses. The specifics of the region are such that without protection of the soil, tomato and cucumber crops cannot be grown. Each spring began with the purchase of a film reel and tug of the greenhouse. What often had to pull not only the roof, but also the walls. It is extremely inconvenient to work with the film, especially if the greenhouse is more than 5 meters. In windy weather is unrealistic.

As soon as more or less affordable greenhouse polycarbonate appeared on sale, I immediately bought it. It turned out to be Kin Ecoplast. Although there was not much choice, I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

Polycarbonate sheets were installed on special dowels with silicone seals. The ends were protected with a special tape. The coating has been in service for more than 10 years and during this time only minor scratches have appeared that do not have a key effect on the light transmission.

Cellular polycarbonate Actual Bio - a universal material for homestead farming

In 2012, I finally opted for cellular polycarbonate instead of a greenhouse film. I have a homemade greenhouse with a gable roof.Every year, I had to change the film, harvest rails, tear off old ones and fill new ones. In addition, during intense rains, you almost have to keep watch in the greenhouse, draining water from sagging areas.

The decision to switch to polycarbonate was not easy, the high cost of the material affected. I chose Actual Bio because by all indicators it was best suited for greenhouses. Covered independently, without assistants. A little tormented with mounting on the roof, the material has a large windage. For the walls I took 3.5 mm, since they do not have so much snow load, for the roof 4 mm. In addition, I had to make the roof a little cooler so that the snow moved out on its own.
