Enamel baths

Enameling a bath is the cheapest way to bring it back to normal. If your enamel bath has lost its shine, has scratches and chips, then you can not buy new plumbing, but simply update the enamel. This method is rarely used today, since the service life of a bath product after enameling, according to reviews, is no more than five years, and the coating itself does not have the performance characteristics of modern materials.

The service is great. The main thing is to find the Master!
A comment
Did the same bath 4 times. The first three times lasted from a week to a couple of months. For the fourth time they did it so that for the fifth year everything is fine. No spots, no chips. A smooth, glossy surface to this day.
pros
Excellent service, the bath becomes like new, easy to clean, does not become rough.
Minuses
It is very difficult to find a master, 99% - charlatans.

The maestro bath enamel terrified me
A comment
Exactly a month ago, the company Maestro did the enameling of the bathtub. Already the next day after doing the work, I noticed "jambs" in the bath! On the one hand, the enamel layer was much thicker, and in the other corner it was not painted at all. I called the office and I was deigned to come only after 3 weeks.

At that time, another master came and so to say “redone” everything (it would be better if he hadn’t come at all). There were stains around the entire perimeter of the bath, and besides, he left his hair tightly dry, in our bath. He didn’t clean up after himself, explaining this by the fact that I should say thanks to him for the fact that he deigned to come here.

So, it turns out I gave 2000 for a service that has nothing like the restoration of a bathtub. The office is just awful and the work they do is disgusting, I do not advise you to contact them, it's easier to buy a new bath.

Enameling bathtubs is a waste of money
A comment
Last July, I ordered a bath enamel in one of the companies involved in this type of restoration (Masteravann). All the work was done by 2 masters, they did everything quickly. They said that you can’t use the bathroom for 2 days, so we went to the cottage. Everything was fine until November. Then, with our bathroom, something irresistible was going on.

The enamel began to move away from the edges and along the bottom of the bath, and at the same time it formed terrible bubbles. In March, these bubbles began to burst, forming sharp edges around them, it was scary to touch them, not like washing in such a bath.

I called the company, where they told me that I myself was to blame. The name of the master was not indicated on the warranty card, because they generally have no idea who performed the work. That's how the warranty of 3 years turned out to be just an empty phrase.

Enameling bathtubs is an insignificant type of restoration.

I found an attractive action on the Internet - bath enamel in 3 layers, for only 2700 rubles. Agree tempting, despite the fact that with our bathroom really had to do something. I called, agreed, the master arrived and got to work. And then I just petrified, firstly, he did not polish the bath and just washed it with my own liquid and my sponge. Secondly, when applying enamel, I ruined the tile near the bathtub. In the third, instead of the promised three layers of enamel, I received only 2. In the fourth, after finishing work, it was possible to see all the irregularities and roughness with an unaided look. When I showed the master all these shortcomings, he simply told me that I had such a bath, took the money and went quietly back home. So, I concluded for myself that for the same amount you can paint the bath yourself with enamel.

I do not advise anyone to enamel the bath. She began to look, in fact, not much and better, the impression is that she was simply doused with paint. After about 1.5 months, after enameling, tiny cracks began to appear on the bottom of the bathtub. I called the company where I ordered the service (a guarantee for work was given for at least 1 year), they said that a year - it turns out to be a conditional period, no one started talking normally, with me there.

And after half a year a rather large piece of this enameling fell off from the bath altogether. Now it will be necessary to buy a new bath, since it is impossible to close this hole, and it will not work to completely remove the enamel. In general, do not waste your nerves, money and time, you will not get anything sensible from enameling a bath. It’s easier to immediately change to a new one, it will certainly be more reliable. I do not advise!

Emergency exit!
A comment
After the wedding, we bought an apartment, we made the usual repairs - cosmetic. As for the bath, they did not change it, it was cast-iron, large enough and of high quality. Moreover, the replacement of the bath implies a repair, because no matter how you twist the tile, everything will fall off exactly. So they decided to simply restore the enamel of the bath. They called the company, after which the master arrived, conjured for 3 hours and our old bathtub turned into a new and snow-white one.

The process of work itself took him several stages: first he cleaned the bath, then degreased the surface and then he began to apply enamel. The bath went dry for 2 days, paid 3000 rubles for restoration. Now wash the bath only with liquid and gentle means.

For a year, the bathtub was not scratched, the only nuisance was turning yellow near the drain. So we recommend - as an emergency and low-budget option for replacing the bath.
