Satin Stretch Ceilings

Stretch ceilings have a large assortment of not only colors and shades, but also textures. Satin ceilings, the reviews of which are below, are made of high-quality PVC material, but their appearance resembles satin by simulating the interweaving of threads. Caring for satin ceilings is no different from all other types of stretch ceilings. The fabric texture creates comfort and “softness” in the interior, while preserving all the distinctive features of classic stretch PVC paintings.

Satin Stretch Ceilings - Reviews, Opinions and Tips

The satin ceiling looks natural.

Bought a secondary housing, the condition of the apartment was, to put it mildly, not very. The ceilings were just awful, it was all mounds and the difference between the sides reached more than 5 cm. That just did not try: glued ceiling tiles, wallpaper. But to create a beautiful view, this did not help.

And then my husband suggested making stretch ceilings. They called the company based on our preferences, advised us on a white satin ceiling, made in Russia. The entire installation process went quickly.

The satin ceiling looks natural, neat, there is nothing screaming, bright in it. It seems that it is just carefully aligned and whitewashed. Many friends do not even realize that it is a tension.
pros
Beautiful and natural look, quick installation of the ceiling.
Minuses
The only negative, the suspended ceiling eats up the height of the room. Our ceiling has become about 7 centimeters lower, well, by and large, these are little things that can be omitted.

Recently decided to put in order the loggia. Long time to choose how to make the ceiling. Something was planned in the medieval style (the walls were finished with stones, the floor was solid wood). We considered the option of a stretch ceiling. The fact is that it is very easy to liquidate floods with it, and water often flows from our neighbors. Of the pluses, it is also convenient to wash and hide all defects in the ceiling (in our rooms they have long been installed).

At the same time, stretch ceilings are contraindicated in unheated rooms. We have it insulated, but at - 30 on the street there is a chance that it will crack and begin to crumble from a light touch. Also, the ceiling can be deformed, because in a priori state it has a static tensile force. Consequently, sudden temperature changes are also unlikely to have a positive effect on it. It became somehow scary, but installing a heating system there is dreary. As a result, they were made of gypsum plaster and covered with moisture-resistant paint - both beautifully, cheaply and durable. Now a year has passed - everything is in its original form.
pros
easy to clean, not afraid of floods, hides ceiling defects
Minuses
afraid of low temperatures and sudden changes in weather conditions
Term of use
less than a month

She dreamed of making the apartment vintage. Boyfriend said satin stretch ceilings, elegant and durable, would be good in such a design. I admit: in decorating the "old" interiors they have no equal. Embossed, gently shine, gently reflect light. I was also attracted by the opportunity to put the canvas after the repair. Although a little expensive ... The smell was, but small.

One thing is bad: when the heating broke down in frosts, the ceilings cracked. They barely repaired the system, came from their parents, sobbed. Additionally, spoiled it by washing with caustic agents.True, the bands appeared after 5 years of friction by aggressive means.
pros
texture, mother-of-pearl shine, the surface plays with all kinds of shades, it is allowed to mount in ready-made rooms
Minuses
expensive, afraid of low temperatures, the first months give a slight unpleasant odor, need careful care
Term of use
more than five years
