Cast Iron Heating Radiators

For decades, cast-iron radiators have been used in heating systems, which appeared much earlier than other types of radiators. They differ in the number of sections, dimensions, as well as the depth of installation, which makes it possible to choose a device for any room.

High thermal conductivity of cast-iron radiators, according to owners, is their main advantage, but not the only one. These include the ability to withstand high temperatures, corrosion, as well as long service life and low cost. Many types of cast-iron radiators provide for their painting, and this allows them to blend harmoniously into any interior.

Cast Iron Heating Radiators

The easiest and most reliable radiator

I do not trust modern radiators. They are expensive, but are they reliable, who will answer and who will give guarantees? Of course, if you buy it very expensive, then there is no doubt that it will last a long time. And if the budget doesn’t allow you to buy expensive radiators? Then I recommend everyone the cast-iron radiators of the company ChAZ ChM2, ChMZ (CHERAD). if you compare price and quality, you can put a good four. Yes, there are disadvantages, but where are they not?

For such a price, the cottage will always be warm and cozy. You may soon have to patch up the battery and you should be prepared for this. If the owner himself can not cope, then you can call the master. All this is acceptable and quite real. The main thing is that there must be a tap on the battery that can be shut off at any time. For example, when water leaks or is too hot in the house, the tap can be closed. If no one lives in the country house, the faucet can be slightly opened so that the heat is weak. The main thing is that nothing freezes if there is severe frost on the street.
A cast-iron radiator is reliable, warm and inexpensive.

Viadrus Termo 500/95 - quality and reliability.
A comment
No matter how technical progress develops, cast-iron radiators have not lost popularity among consumers. Remaining the best sellers. Since, for apartments with central heating, they are much better, more reliable, their service life practically does not expire, which cannot be said about aluminum or bimetallic radiators. Those who are not chasing new products, choose proven cast iron. Yes, and a low price is sometimes a delusion. Of course, they are cheaper than them, but for lovers of perfection of style and grace, you can pick up interesting designs. Like, for example, Verona or Rococco radiators - a real work of art.

For my apartment, I chose a more practical version of the Viadrus Termo 500/95, the power of one section is 147 watts. the maximum pressure is 18.0 bar, and all of them are standard 10. Heats perfectly, no complaints. This is a well-known Czech company that cares about its reputation.
pros
reliability, durability, good heat transfer

Konner cast-iron radiators in a modern apartment
A comment
Old radiators did a poor job of heating the apartment. We decided to replace them with Konner cast-iron radiators. The model was chosen Modern 500, so this model has a higher rate of heat transfer compared to the Modern 300 model. The heat transfer of 1 section of the Modern 500 is 150 W, depth 96 mm, height 600 mm. Working pressure 1, 2 MPa. All these parameters suited us.
Manufacturer - China.

The wife was against cast-iron radiators. But when she saw Konner radiators in the store, she stopped arguing. In appearance, these radiators are similar to bimetallic - neat, have a smooth surface, painted white.

The second year it’s warm in the apartment, we are very glad that we installed Konner heating radiators.
Thanks to modern design, radiators fit well into the interior of the apartment.
pros
They heat the apartment well due to the large internal volume and external surface area.
Cool for a long time if the heating suddenly turns off.
They have a long service life.
Minuses
Are absent.
Term of use
more than three years
