Metal Scandinavia

A distinctive feature of the metal tiles of the Finnish manufacturer Scandinavia is its low weight. This is achieved due to its small thickness in comparison with the products of other companies. Reviews about the metal tile of Scandinavia indicate that it does not exert a large load on the roof and can be used even for light buildings. A protective coating applied to the outside of the sheet protects it from corrosion.

I bought this terrible metal tile in August 2014. I bought it because the Finnish tile, but in fact I got it: the thickness does not correspond to 0.5 mm, in fact it is 0.4 mm, the paint is erased with a fingernail, some of the sheets are scratched. It looks like this skull is made in China, but here only the logo is put and given out as Finnish!
pros
better than ondulin
Minuses
metal thickness, paint quality, dubious origin
Term of use
half a year

Hello! I want to report on my experience, the use of this metal tile. The roof of the mother-in-law's house began to leak, so it should be blocked. I had to overlap, along with the father-in-law. Mother-in-law bought the material herself. The material turned out to be the metal tile of Scandinavia. Why she chose this particular tile, I do not know. However, I want to note that this material is quite reliable and high quality. It looks expensive and beautiful.

During operation, no visible changes are observed.
pros
High quality, easy to fit.
Minuses
cons, like any metal roof, the most important one is probably sound insulation, the rain noise in the house is not so audible, but it is very loud on the street.

more than three years

Scandinavian metal tiles - the ideal coating for thin-walled objects
A comment
Two years ago, my brother and I decided to give a gift to parents. They have a small summer house on their summer cottage. It was built a very long time ago, and the roof fell into complete disrepair. As a gift, we chose to replace the roofing with a new one made of metal tile. All options considered by us were rejected. The reason is the large weight of the coating material. The walls of the house are quite thin, and such a load for them was undesirable.

Therefore, they began to look for metal with a small weight. This was Scandinavia - instead of the standard 5kg, its weight was 3.5kg / m. Despite the fact that some reviews said that a tile with such a weight is too thin, akin to foil, we still decided to choose Scandinavia. The price suited us well, but there simply weren’t any other options.

We decided that even if the service life is not very long, the coating will “work out” its price anyway.
After 2 years, we can say that we were not mistaken. With the coating, everything is in perfect order. There haven’t been any leakages yet, hopefully there will never be. It is a bit noisy during heavy rains, but it is tolerable - it does not rain very often.
pros
Light weight, attractive appearance, low price
Minuses
knocking on the roof in the rain

Scandinavia: the perfect cover for a cottage
A comment
It was necessary to cover the roof of the house, which thick sheets could not stand.I went for material to a large supermarket. Relatively thin, light and at the same time reliable, only the Scandinavian metal tile, presented in the widest range, seemed. Great experience in installation, put effortlessly.

Three years after installation, I say for sure that the choice is right. Although the sheets are thin in appearance, they calmly withstand the pressure of snow, the effects of frost.
pros
attractive appearance, ability to absorb sounds, reliability, affordable price
Minuses
not
