Foundation of FBS blocks

FBS blocks are a durable material that can withstand not only a two-story cottage, but also a heavy nine-story building. They are mounted when it is not possible to fill the monolithic foundation or if it is necessary to carry out all the work as quickly as possible, because the FBS blocks do not need time to gain strength. In addition, their installation is quite simple. Reviews about the foundation of FBS blocks will tell you about their use in construction.

Foundation of FBS blocks - reviews and discussions about their use

The main disadvantage of the foundation of the blocks
A comment
I must make a reservation right away - this is my personal opinion from the experience of building my house with a foundation of reinforced concrete blocks and several other similar houses on our street. The main drawback is that, over time, the blocks settle each by itself, the foundation with waterproofing cracks and water appears in the basements. This is a mass phenomenon, although the construction was carried out efficiently and was not saved on it. The monolithic foundation has no such drawback.
pros
storting speed
Minuses
price, foundation integrity is weak due to individual subsidence of blocks, the appearance of water in the basement

The device of the unloading reinforced belt on the foundation of the FBS
A comment
As the masters explained to me, in the process of building the foundation of FBS blocks, the device of the reinforced belt can not be performed, but for walls that consist of foam and aerated concrete, expanded clay concrete like mine or other large blocks, this is similar to death. Not in the sense that it will fall apart, but in the fact that there will be permanent cracks from shrinkage, especially in the first years of operation. To prevent them, they arrange armored belts. The reinforcing cage consists of bars of the D12 brand, while the spatial lattice of the reinforcing cage can be either rectangular or triangular, which will significantly reduce the metal consumption and will give additional savings in labor costs, but at the same time, the strength of the reinforcing belt will be within the permissible norm.
pros
The ability to flood in the winter,
using fittings as a heater
Minuses
High cost of materials
Significant labor input

more than five years

The number of blocks for the foundation of FBS and their waterproofing
A comment
Having found out how much it costs to rent a car and a crane, without which there is no place to go, I decided to calculate everything in advance, including the location of the blocks with mutual dressing in each row. In the first row there were blocks 40 cm wide, acting as a kind of pillow for the foundation. In the second and third 30 cm wide. In length a greater variety. In order to qualitatively bandage the order, 60 blocks 2.4 m long, 8 blocks 1.2 m long and 10 blocks 90 cm long were required. And all this was placed on 60 linear meters

Given that the house was built in a lowland, waterproofing was given special importance. For the external and internal walls, 4 20 L cans of waterproofing mastic Technonikol were purchased. The outer wall was smeared in two rows, the inner one in 1 row. I also wanted to put a roofing material, but the master dissuaded me, said that it was excessive money and time.
pros
Mounts pretty fast
High accuracy of placement of blocks and, as a result, evenness of walls
Minuses
High price
High complexity of all processes
Term of use
less than a month

Building the foundation from the FPS, almost with your own hands and how much it cost
A comment
Almost, because you cannot pull such blocks yourself, but at each stage I took an active part. The installation took place from September 1 to October 15 and turned out to be more expensive than I expected, mainly due to the high rental of construction equipment. An hour of truck operation cost 20 y. e., and the crane’s hour is 30. e. In total, 5 walkers were made in a day, and renting only those of one equipment cost me 400 dollars. e.
The foundation itself occupied 3 rows and was laid not on concrete pillows, but on a pillow of rammed gravel. In addition, on the advice of knowledgeable people, roll-on waterproofing bikrost was laid out under the first row. The next day, at the same concrete goods factory where I bought the blocks, I ordered 2 cubic meters of a solution of brand m 100 (I’ll say right away I had 0.5 cubic meters left and had to be thrown out). Installation of the two remaining rows of blocks is done by professional installers and a crane operator with my help. Managed for 7 hours and took 150 cu for installation and 150 cu for the crane, which I think is not expensive, since I myself would not have put these blocks in such a way.
pros
The result is a roomy semi-basement
Reliable grounds for a two-story brick house.
Minuses
The high cost of material and work
High cost of equipment rental
High labor costs
Term of use
more than five years
