Prefabricated panel houses

Frame houses built using sandwich panels are considered comfortable and durable, despite their low cost. This is a relatively new building material, which is only gaining popularity today. Thanks to simple construction technology, you can even build a two-story house in a few days. Reviews of prefabricated panel houses will help you find out their features and possible problems “first hand”.

Frame-panel houses - reviews on construction technology

A frame-panel house is an excellent house with a good ventilation system.

I have been the owner of a frame-panel house for more than five years. Its construction took about four months. I built the house on a high foundation (its height is about 50 centimeters), which creates protection for the home from floods in the spring. When making the house, I made a significant mistake - not enough attention was paid to the ventilation system, which made the rooms hot in the first year in summer, and in winter there was a need for constant ventilation of the room so that it was not stuffy. And only having adjusted the system of hoods, it was possible to ensure excellent air circulation in the room and to extend the life of the structure.
As a heater, I used polystyrene foam, which does not contain phenol-formaldehyde resins. For the same reason, I decided to use their DSP counterparts instead of OSB-plates.
pros
quickly built.
Minuses
with a poor ventilation system in the house is stuffy.
Term of use
more than five years

Frame-panel house - quickly built at minimal cost.
A comment
About three years ago, I had a need to build a dwelling on my own small plot of land, which is located in an urban-type settlement. Since I did not have huge money capital, I decided to build an “economical” house, which is a frame-panel structure.

The house was built on a concrete foundation and in a quick time, using a sparse frame and adhesive joints - these are the positive aspects of the erected structure. A house built on a high foundation is not afraid of a spring flood or a hurricane wind. I’ll take it cheap to the positive aspects of the house.

However, as it turned out, the frame-panel house is poor in terms of dampness, which affects the durability of the structure. During the operation of the house, the siding faded with which the outer side of the external walls was trimmed.
pros
low financial construction costs.
Minuses
increased dampness.
Term of use
more than three years

Now we are living in a house of this type with the whole family, I was very worried that it would be cold and would have to be additionally heated. It’s cold outside - there are children in the house and we all walk like in the summer. very warm. For money, they were looking for an economical option, they decided for a long time on this type of house, then google it, since Europe has long been only built there. The process itself took a little time, the foundation lay only a couple of weeks and then they began to make the frame. I did it with European technologies with insulation, they correctly insulated it, correctly processed the outside, so that the house is dry and comfortable, and many say that this is a summer cottage, it is damp in it. It is not true. If technology is followed, then everything is fine. Of course, we live only 4 months, but there is still little experience. I highly recommend to anyone who has not yet decided!
pros
Price of materials, speed of work (due to light material)
Minuses
I do not see
Term of use
half a year
